Haiku

When writing a Haiku the idea is to paint a picture with words.

Here is a contemporary Haiku (and one of my favourites) by Helen Kenyon.

Cat
Death on velvet paws.
Sleek assassin, razor clawed,
Purring by the fire.

And here are some of mine:-

A flash of chestnut.
Watch it scurrying away,
Walnut in it's jaws.

The cuckoo calling
Amongst the cherry blossom
At last, spring is here.

Leaves gently moving
photosynthesis at work
fighting climate change.

The inky black bird
gorges on blood red berries
in the thorny depths

  1. This sums up the weather today!

    Rivers of water
    Dashing down the window panes
    No walking today
